ALEOOOP CODE OF CONDUCT

ALEOOOP is committed to learning by doing, providing opportunities to experience personal success. We strive to promote self-confidence, decision-making, and social skills for the children enrolled in our programs. To maintain a positive and safe environment, everyone is expected to follow this code of conduct.  

Be respectful by…  

  • treating others with respect and courtesy. 
  •  openly listening to others thoughts and opinions.  
  • not taking part in or leading any bullying, harassment, name calling, unwanted teasing, or exclusion of others.  
  • respecting others’ belongings and ALEOOOP supplies.  
  • Respecting the guidelines set in place by Hillside/Brookside schools.

Be responsible by…  

  • wearing appropriate clothing/shoes each day for your program.
  • informing staff of challenges you have with any person, activity, or other situation. If staff is not informed, they may not be able to stop the problem or provide assistance.  
  • (for enrolled children) leaving my cell phone or other electronic devices at home, or staying off my devices while I am at ALEOOOP.  
  • (for PARENTS of enrolled children) during ALEOOOP hours use the ALEOOOP phone (201-248-1069) to relay messages and information to your children.  
  • accepting personal responsibility for my actions.  

Be positive by…  

  • communicating appropriately, which excludes the use of foul language, gestures, harsh words, or slurs.  
  • actively showing support for the activities, other kids, and staff. 

Be committed by:   

  • challenging myself to actively participate in all the scheduled activities. 
  • following the requests and directions of all staff.
  • staying with my group

 

Be safe by…  

  • following (and encouraging others to follow) all rules and regulations provided by ALEOOOP staff.  
  • refraining from deliberately causing bodily harm.  
  • understanding that pushing, hitting, kicking, and fighting are not acceptable behaviors and will not be tolerated.  

I understand that this experience is for EVERYONE at ALEOOOP, and if my behavior is deemed to be outside the code of conduct and/or unmanageable, it may result in any of the following disciplinary actions:  

  • Verbal counseling from staff  
  • Timeout from scheduled activities  
  • Parent/Guardian notification  
  • Parent/Guardian conference  
  • Suspension or dismissal from program

*It is the expectation that the parent/guardian will review the policy with their child(ren) who attend as participants at ALEOOOP.  No refunds will be given if a child’s behavior results in their removal from the program. This decision is at the sole discretion of the ALEOOOP Board.

WEDNESDAYS: (4/23, 4/30, 5/7, 5/14, 5/21, 5/28 )
Kids Learn Magic (1-3)  Welcome to the world of Magic, children will learn how to master a new magic trick, which will be theirs to take home every week! This fun course not only teaches them the art of magic, it also gives them the ability to gain confidence with presenting in front of others while being in a fun supportive setting. At the end of our 6 weeks, the children will have 6 magic tricks to put on a cute show for family & friends at home!   
 
DIY Maker (1-3)    Who wouldn't love a season filled with DIY fun? From mesmerizing marbling and enchanting galaxy jars to adorable pine cone creatures and customizable canvas pouches, theres something for everyone. Makers of all ages will enjoy unleashing their creativity and crafting memories with friends!
 
Chess (K-3) A huge hit! Back by popular demand! We bring chess pieces to life using fantastic creative and animated personalities that enable students to learn the game in a fun and very exciting way, Students become truly fascinated with imaginative chess characters that accelerate the learning process. Our instructors bring all the materials and supplies to your school while covering the rules and strategies of chess!
RoboBuilders (1-3)  Explore the world of machines and robots as you dive into simple machines, gear structures, motors and circuits! Build your own robot, experiment with wheels, legs, and tracks, and let your creativity shine in engineering. Students who loved Brixology will enjoy this NEW Robobuilders class!! Packed with exciting hands on projects and endless possibilities! 
 
THURSDAYS: (4/25, 5/2, 5/9, 5/16, 5/23, 5/30)
 
Cheer! (K-3)   Our Cheer program is perfect for all skill levels, focusing on refining technique, building confidence, achieving success, while promoting discovery through play! Trained coaches teach our cheerleaders the basics of stunting, tumbling, performing, and choreography. Coaches also keep students’ minds active with lessons on rules & etiquette, the history of the sport, and the life lessons of sportsmanship, perseverance, and leadership. 
JR Woodworking (K-3)   Come join us as we have fun building and painting with wood! Each week we will start off learning about woodworking safety. Then we will sand, paint, and put together a new project.  Past projects have included birdhouses, animal figures, wooden games, home decor and much more! Projects will vary per session.
Ocean Adventure (K-3)   Dive into creativity with our exciting ocean adventure art class! Explore the wonders of the sea as you create ocean inspired art work using a variety of techniques. From colorful coral reefs to majestic sea creatures, let your imagination set sail on this artistic journey. Get ready to make waves with your creativity! 
Crazy Chem Works!  (K-3)   Welcome to crazy chem! where young scientists transform into chemistry wizards through a whirlwind of exciting experiments! We will discover the wonders of Super sticky stuff! Witness chem in a flash, and dive into the gooey fun of slime time! Experience the frosty magic of Dry ice capades, Roll up your sleeves for hands on Lab works, unravel the mysteries of pH Phactor. Light up the room with the dazzling Glow show and explore explosive reactions! Get ready for this chemistry adventure that's bursting  with surprises and ignites a passion for science!

Jewelry Making (K-3)  Spark your childs creativity with our fun-filled jewelry-making program! Led by an amazing instructor, Kids will design their own unique charms, bracelets, earrings, and more. Most days feature multiple hands on projects, encouraging creativity and focus while building friendships in a very supportive, fun environment! 
 
Volleyball (K-3) We’re serving up this year-round team sport that can be played indoors or outdoors with a mix of instruction, drills, and games to help kids develop the fundamental skills of passing, setting, serving, spiking, and blocking.
Brixology: Lego Based Program (K-3) BRIXOLOGY sets the foundation for our next generation of makers! Kids learn about different types of engineering and then team up to construct a different engineering themed project using LEGO® bricks. They explore mechanical engineering as they build boats and vehicles. That’s not all, from carnival rides to drawing machines, mechanical animals to truss
