ALEOOOP CODE OF CONDUCT
ALEOOOP is committed to learning by doing, providing opportunities to experience personal success. We strive to promote self-confidence, decision-making, and social skills for the children enrolled in our programs. To maintain a positive and safe environment, everyone is expected to follow this code of conduct.
Be respectful by…
- treating others with respect and courtesy.
- openly listening to others thoughts and opinions.
- not taking part in or leading any bullying, harassment, name calling, unwanted teasing, or exclusion of others.
- respecting others’ belongings and ALEOOOP supplies.
- Respecting the guidelines set in place by Hillside/Brookside schools.
Be responsible by…
- wearing appropriate clothing/shoes each day for your program.
- informing staff of challenges you have with any person, activity, or other situation. If staff is not informed, they may not be able to stop the problem or provide assistance.
- (for enrolled children) leaving my cell phone or other electronic devices at home, or staying off my devices while I am at ALEOOOP.
- (for PARENTS of enrolled children) during ALEOOOP hours use the ALEOOOP phone (201-248-1069) to relay messages and information to your children.
- accepting personal responsibility for my actions.
Be positive by…
- communicating appropriately, which excludes the use of foul language, gestures, harsh words, or slurs.
- actively showing support for the activities, other kids, and staff.
Be committed by:
- challenging myself to actively participate in all the scheduled activities.
- following the requests and directions of all staff.
- staying with my group
Be safe by…
- following (and encouraging others to follow) all rules and regulations provided by ALEOOOP staff.
- refraining from deliberately causing bodily harm.
- understanding that pushing, hitting, kicking, and fighting are not acceptable behaviors and will not be tolerated.
I understand that this experience is for EVERYONE at ALEOOOP, and if my behavior is deemed to be outside the code of conduct and/or unmanageable, it may result in any of the following disciplinary actions:
- Verbal counseling from staff
- Timeout from scheduled activities
- Parent/Guardian notification
- Parent/Guardian conference
- Suspension or dismissal from program
*It is the expectation that the parent/guardian will review the policy with their child(ren) who attend as participants at ALEOOOP. No refunds will be given if a child’s behavior results in their removal from the program. This decision is at the sole discretion of the ALEOOOP Board.
